La Neige!

{This is a little long}
I'm finally in France,
after 28 hours of travelling.

For those of you who aren't friends with me on FaceBook, my flight from Medford was delayed, so I missed my flight to Chicago.

While I was in the air, they rerouted me to Frankfurt.
Luckily there was another woman who was flying exactly the same thing I was.
She was super nice, and we hung out the whole day, untill my flight to Paris from Frankfurt, which was oddly before hers.
It was really nice to have someone to be able to talk to, because otherwise I would have been VERY stressed out.

Anyway. I got to France around 1pm [I was supposed to be there at 10am]
And my bag was there!!! Thank goodness. I was worried because I transfered to Luftansa, instead of United.
But I went to the TGV [high speed rail] station at the airport, and got a carte 12-25, which is 50 euros, but then all of your tickets are half off.
Then I got a train ticket for Angers.
And then when I was trying to pay for all of this, my credit card wouldn't work. It was terrible.
The guy that was helping me was super nice though, and he closed his station and let me leave my bags while I ran around looking for the ATM, and I finally found one.
So I went back and paid and got my ticket.

Then I went down to the tracks, and a French girl had to help me, because I was trying to get into the metro area, and couldn't figure out what was going on.
I finally figured it out, and then paid 2 euros to get a half our of internet so I could email my mom and let her know I arrived.

Right before the train got to the station, I met one of the girls in my program, Alyssa, who I had planned on meeting up with. We also met 2 girls from Canada, who aren't in our program, but are studying at our school.

The train we took was going to a different area of the Anjou region, so we had to transfer at Le Mans.
Alyssa met some French guy that carried her bags, and then bought all of us little cappacinos!
We then met 2 other people, a guy and a girl who are studying at CIDEF with us, so we had a nice group of 6 traveling the last hour together.

My host mom picked me up from the train station, and we took the bus back to her apartment, which is adorable [pictures to come] and she gave me a tour of the place!
She let me unpack while she made dinner, which was delish!
She made soup, fish, and we had cheese and a chocolate cake for dessert!
I am so full!

Now, I'm just in my room, and I'm probably going to go to sleep soon!
I have to be at school at 10am tomorrow!
Breakfast at 8:30!

One Week.

In one week,
I will be somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on my way to Paris, France.

I will be having one of the longest days in my life, ever.
I'm leaving Medford, Oregon at 5:30am on the 29th.
Arriving in Paris at 9:15am on the 30th.
But I won't be in Angers, until a little before 6pm on the 30th.

I'm flying
MFR>DEN>ORD>CDG

It's going to be a long day.

But I can't wait.
This is something I've been looking forward to, pretty much since I stepped of the plane in SFO 10 years ago from Heathrow. The day we moved back to the US.

And now, it's finally happening.
I'm so excited to be in France, learning French, eating French food [baguettes and cheese, yes please!]
and living with a French woman.

It's going to be the time of my life.
I can't wait to travel and see my friends in Spain, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

I'm going to try and be as adventurous as I can, eating food I've never had, traveling as much as I can.

This blog is mostly to keep up with my friends and family, and so that 20 years from now, I can look back on this and see how much fun I had.
